So, I take the TTC every morning and every evening. Since there is never anywhere to look on the subway without awkwardly catching the eye of the person across from me, I read the ads… over and over.

So, there is this ad that the TTC has “Speak to the TTC in 70 different languages” Yay! Props to the TTC for celebrating diversity and providing access. Trouble is, there was not one language on there that is indigenous to CANADA! WTF? To all the First Nations out there – sorry about your luck. If you fell under Canada’s Multicultural Policy, you might have a fighting chance.

Let’s see… Toronto (native word) Canada (native word lost in translation) Mississauga (native cultural group) Ottawa (native word)… there is a trend.

Canada – way to co-opt languages without providing access to services in those same languages.
